Now we're talking.
These two stories should be read in conjunction.
First, the indispensable Regime Change Iran:
Iran Press News: Translation by Banafsheh Zand-Bonazzi.
KAYHAN, the mouthpiece newspaper of Uber-Mullah Khamnei which last week called for the kidnapping and execution of IAEA inspectors, in its Sunday, Feb. 12th edition called for widespread suicide bombings to be launched in Denmark and other European countries whose publications printed "disrespectful" cartoons. This publication beckoned Islamist terrorists to gather into teams to be deployed around Europe.
"...gather into teams..."
And this (via LGF):
TEHRAN - The general secretary of the Iranian press association called Sunday for action over a football cartoon printed in a German newspaper showing the Iranian national team standing in a World Cup stadium with bomb belts strapped to their jerseys.
Manuchehr Sandi called the cartoon, which was printed in the Friday edition of Berlin's Tagesspiegel, a "dirty joke" and in an interview with the ISNA news agency demanded the German Embassy in Tehran give an "appropriate reaction" to it.
The cartoon also depicts German soldiers standing in the stadium with a caption saying "Why at the World Cup of all places does the German army have to be on duty?"
Well, it certainly brings home a certain point about those running things in Iran:
Of course, the Iranians are blaming the Zionists. I blame a gene that causes those in possession to be unable to recognize humor.
UPDATE: In fact, the article in question was one critcizing the German government for using the Army to supplement police presence, saying that it wasn't necessary because the Iranians are sportsmen.
