Abu Musab al-Zarqawi insists that he didn't mean to bomb that wedding in Amman, Jordon last week:
AMMAN, Jordan - An audiotape purportedly from the head of al-Qaida in Iraq said Friday the group's suicide bombers did not intend to bomb a Jordanian wedding party at an Amman hotel last week, killing about 30 people.
The speaker on the tape, identified as Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, said the bomber who detonated his explosives in the Radisson SAS hotel on Nov. 9 was targeting a hall where he claimed Israeli and American intelligence officials were meeting.
That bomb caused part of the roof to fall in the wedding hall.
Al-Zarqawi accused the Jordanian government of hiding casualties among Israeli and American intelligence agents, and he insisted al-Qaida in Iraq was not targeting fellow Muslims.
"We want to assure you that ... you are more beloved to us than ourselves," al-Zarqawi said, addressing Jordanians.
Missing from this report is Zarqawi's threat to kill King Abdullah. So Zarq says doesn't target "innocent" Jordanians, most of which are Sunni, but he's all for the massacre of Iraqi Shiites, it seems:
BAGHDAD, Iraq - Suicide bombers killed 74 worshippers at two Shiite mosques near the Iranian border Friday, while a pair of car bombs targeting a Baghdad hotel housing Western journalists killed eight Iraqis.
The suicide attackers targeted the Sheik Murad mosque and the Khanaqin Grand Mosque in Khanaqin, 90 miles northeast of Baghdad, as dozens of people were attending Friday prayers, police said. The police command said 74 people were killed and 75 wounded in the largely Kurdish town.
So he is targeting fellow Muslims. He just can't seem to help himself, can he? Any even if al Qaeda in Iraq says they want to kill more Americans and Israeli "spies," he still is looking much like a loser. Even the attacks near the Hamra Hotel, which houses a gaggle of journalists, killed Iraqis.
Who would have thought that Zarq was such a big Britney Spears fan?
