Dave Schuler of the estimable blog The Glittering Eye has a good post pointing out the poor performance of the whole of the Senate in yesterday's clusterpout. He's right in his warnings to the Democrats and in his criticism of the Republicans. He concludes:
The right thing (for both parties) to do is to stand down. Turn the other cheek. Shame the devil. Rely on good policies and good governance to gain the confidence of the voters. Not guerrilla theater.
And then, just when things are looking good, he lowers the hammer on me. I have to admit that I didn't see this coming:
I disagree with Dan Berczik of Bloggledygook, however. The Senators aren’t behaving like children. They’re behaving as though they have the emotional development of infants.
Ouch. But he's right again, damn it. So I will admit my error because that's what grownups do. Sometimes. At least when they're not pretending to run the country.
