Since I have now been accused of offering a lame cop-out (dig the sixties lingo) for trying to find a reason (apparently, there is some confusion over there between explanation and excuse) that the South Asian earthquake hasn't gotten as much media attention as the tsunami and the Gulf hurricanes, I thought I would assuage my pathetic guilt and shame by pointing out that today is Blog Quake Day. Clicking on the icon to the left will take you to the original post at Desipundit, who lists a lot of aid organizations to which you can contribute.
My choice this time around is Oxfam International, even though they have this annoying habit of talking about "fair share" when it comes to aid. Oh well, we can't have everything. There are many other organizations that are working in this effort, so if Oxfam doesn't do it for you, another certainly will.
So please, visit Desipundit and give whatever you can for the victims of this disaster, not just to show our friends at Seattlest that we do indeed care about "brown people" (many of which have suffered in each of these other catastrophes, by the way) but that it is the right and good thing to do. Oh, and by the way, the phrase is "couldn't care less." If one could care less, then presumably they might.
All right, I've had my fun. Now please, do what you can to help those in need. The winter is coming fast and there is a lot of work that needs to be done. Thanks to everybody for their help.
