The ChiComs are rattling the nuclear cage again.
A senior military official in Beijing says China would be prepared to use nuclear weapons against the United States if Washington intervenes in any future conflict over Taiwan.
Major General Zhu Chenghu, a professor at China's National Defense University, told a group of foreign journalists that he does not anticipate war between China and the United States. However, in General Zhu's words, "If the Americans are determined to interfere" on the Taiwan issue, then China "will be determined to respond."
While this may plant some worry in American hearts, it seems to me that this is just another Chinese attempt at controlling the population. In light of the fact that virtually universal contraception (including sterilization) and starvation have so far shown mixed results, Chinese Communists are probably thinking that if they provoke--and then strike --the US, Bush (or whoever's prez at the time) would of course have no choice but to retaliate. As a US nukes barrage could possibly kill a few hundred million Chinese, the problem would be solved in an afternoon.
You gotta hand it to those clever cadavers that run the Chinese government. It's really a brilliant plan.
