Now that Chelsea is out of the barn, I suppose that there's no harm in letting the story out also.
On a recent trip to Kenya, Bill Clinton has been offered 40 goats and 20 cows for Chelsea. Reports were not clear whether Chelsea would have been kept for breeding or for milking.
The dowry is a very generous one by the country's own standards.
Godwin Kipkemoi Chepkurgor wrote to Mr Clinton through Kenya's Foreign Minister.
He said: "Had I succeeded in wooing Chelsea, I would have had a grand wedding.
"I would have invited South African Anglican Archbishop Desmond Tutu to preside at the ceremony."
Chepkurgor gave Daniel Arap-Moi as a reference. Chances are that Robert Mugabe was unavailable for comment.

I am tempted to be humored by this story, but reflection tells me it is truly disgusting. Our society is hardly egalitarian with regard to the sexes, but we're a lot more advanced than most. Trading animals for brides is just not funny.

I suppose you have a point. But who are we, really, to try and impose our Western standards on the rest of the world? Who do we think we are?

And what about the poor sheep and goats?
