In the FWIW category, I thought that the best point of the evening was the president's insistance that people who are not of the "investor class" be able, with respects to Social Security, to build what amounts to an estate that could be passed to family. This is the most egalitarian position of this administration and one that I suspect will get roundly denounced in the usual circles.
For once, we have a president who is willing to acknowledge that Americans in lower tax brackets are deserving of the dignity of building wealth for themselves and their loved ones and that they are entitled to keep what they have invested.
Two quick impressions:
The prez handled the questions with much more ease than he has done in the past, although he tended towards long winded answers.
Terry Moran is still a dick.
