If you follow his links you get the sense that indeed events are moving with shocking speed and change of direction. It remains to be seen how Boy Assad handles what is becoming an international juggernaut. And I would not be surprised to read several months from now that certain types of prohibited weapons have either been found in the Bakaa Valley or evidence of their existence has been uncovered.
When vicious critics of the US start to equate what is happening in the Middle East with the fall of the Berlin Wall, it is tempting to think that maybe we have wandered into an alternative universe. And when German newspapers start to pose interesting questions those of us who have been harping on the transformative power of democracy may be forgiven if we take a moment for noting how truly far we have come in a very short time.
There is so much yet to happen, of course, but suddenly the road does seem a bit wider and clearer and straighter.
Every valley shall be exalted
